Bad is the seventh studio album by American songwriter and recording artist Michael Jackson. The album was released on August 31, 1987 by Epic/CBS Records, nearly five years after Jackson’s previous studio album, Thriller, which went on to become the world’s best-selling album.
Bad saw Jackson exercise even more artistic freedom than he did with his two previous Epic releases (Off The Walland Thriller). On Bad, Jackson composed nine of the album’s eleven tracks and received co-producer credit for the entire album.
Bad is the only album to have five of its singles peak at number one on the Billboard Hot 100
In honour of the 24th anniversary of the release of this pop classic I highly recommend this incredible vinyl rip from an original Japanese pressing. The sound quality of this one is on par with the Special Edition but has the benefit of featuring the original (and far superior in my opinion) mixes of each track.
Though, to be honest, that opening to “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” is a little bit much… okay it’s a lotta bit much.
Side note: Katy Perry tied the Billboard record this year. Do with that information what you will.
Just be warned if you suggest that “Teenage Dream” is a better song than “Man in the Mirror” I will have to deck you in the teeth.
