Why must Adobe keep investing time in trying to make Photoshop a UI design tool… I know some misguided designers like to make their UIs in Photoshop but they’re wrong to do so, its a horrible tedious tool for UI design. Don’t believe me? If a shit how PS user and a shit how FW user both had to change the layout and sizing of the same form controls I bet the Fireworks user would be done in a fraction of the time.
How can you use a UI design tool that doesn’t even have a button to center an object on the page?
And as for adding special features for iPhone UI design? WHY??? how is iPhone UI design any different from regular UI design other than its a fucking buzzword? You can totally see the Adobe marketing team at work here because the App Store is big money at the moment they’re hoping to tack all this extra pointless crap onto CS5 so that the stupider people in charge think they’ll need CS5 to develop better iPhone Apps.
Mike in the blog comments summed it up nicely
Adobe popular product + Current technological hype = more profit!
So for god sake Adobe why don’t you put some extra time into Fireworks, make the basic tools work better, make it more stable and stop adding dumb Flex or other gimmicky crap that time should never have been wasted on in the first place.
I don’t know much about Fireworks but I tend to agree with the general sentiment:
